Healing Hands vs. Healing Seed
Someone, please, correct me if I'm wrong, or missing something blazingly obvious, but, compared to Healing Seed, Healing Hands is rubbish. Yes, it costs 5 less energy and takes 1.75 seconds less time to cast, but it only works on one person. I'd rather heal everyone in the area for 25 whenever my tank gets hit than heal only the tank for 29 whenever he gets hit. Especially when I could be letting people take advantage of the enchantment by placing something like Aura of Faith on them. Quite frankly, I just don't see why Healing Seed is elite. If I were to use it, it'd have to have more to offer me than a bit of extra energy.

You definately are thinking of the wrong skill...
Healing seed is whenever the warrior hits something, not when it gets hit.
I think you misread it or something.

No, they both require the target ally being a punching bag.
To Lunchbreak:
Can't cast Healing Seed on yourself, while casting Healing Hands is possible.
Farming build maybe?

Niosisw you need to read again the descpritions of the skills...
Healing Seed and Healing hands, are almost the same
Healing hands has a low, energy cost and fast cast time. But it only heals the ally that have it.
Healing Seed has *almost* high energy cost, and long cast time. In that time, you can get interrupted or your target can die. But it heals the allies around the target.
Healing hands also heal a little more that seed.
For me Healing hands is only for a emergency case, but you can also use WoH, lot of heal fast cast , low energy cost, except when you want to heal yourself. I prefer to use Healing seed, its practically the same and it isnt a elite skill.

Healing Seed is Target Other ally
Healing hands is target ally
Healing seed cannot be cast on yourself but any real monk would know its used for sending tanks in solo for abit to gather aggro (for some instances in FoW ect..) its really good when you have multiple tanks in same area taking AoE damage.
Healing hands is really only good on secoundary monks decent skill when under fire ... but not overtly gravy(yes I said gravy Like it an love it)
all and all they both have uses but Primary monks shouldn't waste their elite slot on healing hands

Healing hands is elite and healing seed is not and thats essentially what the decision comes down to.

Not really. If you only have one tank and the rest distance attackers then hands is a much better option than seed (assuming you aren't worried about putting another elite in). You can take advantage of Hands with one tank in small builds such as FoW or SF where you have an agro tank. No need to waste the extra energy and cast when you only want to cast on one tank. Additionally, the fact that hands can be cast on yourself is helpful if you become the tank for a short period of time.
Seed is a better choice if you are going to have multiple tanks in the area.

personaly i like healing seed better since in alter maps i can put healing seed on Ghostly hero to reduce the dmg hes taking then use WoH to shoot his health back up. healing hands takes that Elite slot and leaves my major heal choice to um heal other or infuse health.

For playing PvP Random Arena and Team Arena, I bring Healing Hand on my monk to survive ranger spiking! That's the only way I have thought of to survive against ranger spiking without any assistance (eg. team mates blinding rangers).
Else monk are pretty much dead when facing rangers.. unless you bring Armour of Earth or something. But running slow can be a negative thing in RA/TA, warriors constantly upon you=BAD!

How about RoF and Prot Spirit? Of course I am assuming you would opt to be a boon prot monk...is there any other kind in RA/TA?
Niosisw -- > I think you were confusing Vigorous spirit with healing seed.
I agree with most of the reasons mentioned above regarding why one should take healing seed over healing hands ... but most importantly what a waste of an elite.
oh and to Lunchbreak (the person who started this thread --> Aura of Faith, another waste of an elite.

What I mean by Ranger spikes are those using Dual shots + Steal Life + Kindle Arrow + Conjure XXX. You take like several different all at once.
They go through RoF or Prot Spirit so easily.. RoF stops 1 of the attack, Protective Spirit doesn't help since most of those damages won't go beyond 10%.
So only way to counter that is Healing Hand.. since you GAIN health for every single one of those damages that hits you (maybe except for Life Stealing).

i never understood the love affair for healing hands, even after it got a slight buff
compared to shielding hands and healing seed as its nonelite sister skills, it is an awful elite imo

If it wasn't an Elite skill it would have been nice, BUT even then Id like Healing Seed better !!
I mean, cast Healing Seed on a tank and every tank around it get's healed..
Healing Hands is something like Mark of Protection, but it doesn't absorb attacks.
Oké it's more spammable tho.. Anyway..
It sucks !!

If your party can control the aggro onto a single tank in PvE, you can alternate Healing Hands with Healing Seed and that, my friends, is godmode. The rest of the time your can do whatever you like with your other 6 skillslots. That tank is pretty much unkillable through normal attacks.

Haha. I was wondering why people were still making threads about Healing Hands....
And to this day I STILL see people using Healing Hands in RA,TA and now Hero Arenas. It's a crap elite to anyone who knows to just switch targets.

Healing seed only triggers vs attacks.
Healing hands triggers vs any dmg.
Healing seed is still better. Heals more, lower recharge, non-elite
